What is De-mineralised Water?

The process of water de-mineralising utilises synthetic ion exchange resin. We use predominantly regeneratable resin rather than throw away resin, and it is environmentally friendly. Our aim is to have a close to zero environmental footprint.
The chemistry structure of all minerals has them with either a positive or negative charge. As the water is forced through the resin, all the minerals are attracted to the charge on each resin bed, becoming trapped within the resin column.
The bigger the resin volume the more litres of water the unit will purify. Once the resin is exhausted (trapped as many minerals as possible) we regenerate it, with no resin going to our local land fill.
The Jetwash System: How 'de-mineralising' works
In the last 3 years, due to the increase in purity requirements to feed the new generation laboratory analysers, we have had to learn even more about water, and how to clean it. It is with this knowledge and intellectual property that we serve our customers.
Washing glass, Perspex, paint etc. with town supply tap water, any water that is not pure H2O, results in mineral deposits being left behind as the water evaporates, forming water marks. Most minerals will wash off, however not all. These nasties cause an etching effect, that we know is hard to remove, leaving paint work and chrome dull and glass or Perspex with visible damage.
Using a chamois or towel to remove the bulk of the water has been tried, and as you know often leaves fine scratches, or worse still a visible scratch from a single speck of grit trapped in the cloth. The Jetwash System makes pure de-mineralised water to rinse the surface after washing, leaving only the pure H2O to evaporate.
